Crowd shot – Another year, another great crowd

Me welcoming Festival attendees

September offers another opportunity to put on a great food festival at The Academy Hotel in Colorado Springs. Held on Wednesday, the 20th, this year’s event, the 7th annual, featured such wonderful area restaurants as Black-Eyed Pea, Applebee’s, Colorado Smokehouse Barbecue, Old Chicago Pizza & Tap Room, Kneader’s Bakery & Café, English Dockside, L & L Hawaiian Barbecue, the Mason Jar, and more. Delicious ethnic food samples were provided by Thai Mint, Schnitzel Fritz German Restaurant, Indus Indian Cuisine, Hacienda Villarreal Mexican, Paravicini’s Italian Bistro, Arlene’s Beans of Palmer Lake, and Provecho Fresh Mexican Cuisine.

But that wasn’t all. Attendees were also treated to sandwiches from Jason’s Deli, pizza from Louie’s, snacks from Einstein’s, barbecue from Dickey’s, and sandwich samples from Jersey Mike’s. Thanks to Sugarland Sodas for providing those wonderful pure cane sugar sodas, Keva Juice for the smoothies, and Serranos for the coffee. Edith’s Homemade Gourmet offered pies for dessert and tasty popcorn snacks were supplied by Colorado Kernels Gourmet Popcorn for the ride home.

Hundreds of people attended, had a great time, and have already made plans to attend the 8th annual in September, 2018. Hope to see you then. Remember to check the website: www.restaurantandfoodexpo.com or my website for updates and details.
